Parents & Guardians- Information for Group Home Residents
Your son/daughter is currently a resident at the Boys Group Home/Girls Group Home. The purpose of this page is to familiarize you with some of the basic information regarding life at the group home.
Telephone Use

All phone calls are supervised by staff.

Phone calls are limited to 5 minutes.

One incoming and one outgoing call per person, per resident is allowed.

Outgoing phone call tickets are earned each week by the residents’ progress on treatment goals, attitude, and behaviors in combination with their weekly point average.

Incoming calls are allowed provided the resident is not on grounding status.

No cell phones allowed

Visitors’ cell phones are NOT to be used by residents for calls or internet access.

If a call is received while resident is in group, on an outing, or otherwise unavailable, they will be allowed to return the call during normal phone use hours without using a call ticket.
Visitation

On grounds visitation for parents/guardians and other approved family members is available every Sunday from 2-4pm. If this day/time does not work, we ask that you contact the group home at least 24 hours in advance of when you would like to visit and make other arrangements with us.

Off grounds visits within the Willmar community, as well as day passes, overnights, and weekend visits to home, are also able to be earned by residents as the progress in their program.

Residents are allowed to write and receive letters.

All mail is monitored by PLYP staff for the safety and security of all residents.
